Apu Jan A/W 15

Lunch :)

What I wore:

I met Charlotte Fisher. Such a cutie!

EEEEK, I made it to LFW this year! Although I only got to spend the day but it was so much fun to be a part of the vibe. The fact I got to see three shows (even FROW at one of them!) just keeps me buzzing! After watching each show, I am mad excited about A/W 15!

Judy Wu's collection ('Shanghai Tales') embodies the merge of Shanghai romanticism and modernity. Leather pieces are shaped into frame and cloud-like patterns secured onto the wonderfully tailored garments adorned b rivet embellishments. The use of bold geometric prints and a vibrant colour palette captures the neon lights of Shanghai nights.

Overall, sophisticated sleek silhouettes with clean style lines were present throughout the collection with the use of subtly textured fabrics.

The second show I attended was Apu Jan ('Deep into the woods'), who's collection is inspired by an imaginary forest. The AW 15 collection has a story telling element which Jan portrays through the use of specially developed jacquard, digital prints, various hand knitting and machine knitting technics.

Youjin Jin's collection takes Alice into an alternate wonderland. The collection is born from the designer's interpretation of Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland with a twist of course. It is inspired by strong and independent aspects of the modern female, living in a modern fairytale.
Alice is represented as a fearless and strong willed woman which has been translated into gender-neutral designs, merging the genders using feminine elements laced with masculine qualities. Details include expertly cut coats, overalls and dresses. As well as that multi-dimensional garments with asymmetrical lapels, heavy pleating and innovative shapes are created through Jin's expert cutting technics.

The colour palette is quite muted with grey tones accented with electric blue, the idea derived from Alice's iconic ribbon hair band. Youjia's interpretation of the fairytale tell the contemporary tale designed for the unique, sensible, beautiful and adventurous woman. Definitely my favourite collection with special attention to detail, impeccable tailoring and sharp silhouettes.

It was great seeing such great pieces of work by talented designers and even though my legs are pain and I am physically drained, from walking around London for over 12 hours, IT WAS WORTH IT!

Until next time,

X
